  About WFCMS

World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) is an international academic organization for communication and exchange of Chinese medicine, with its headquarter in Beijing. At present, there are 253 member societies from 67 countries and regions, possess over 300,000 Chinese medicine practitioners. WFCMS devoted itself to promoting the understanding and cooperation among academic groups of Chinese Medicine all over the world; strengthening international academic exchanges; improving qualifications for Chinese Medicine; protecting and developing Chinese Medicine; working to have Chinese Medicine gain recognition in mainstream medical systems in different countries; promoting exchanges and cooperation among Chinese Medicine and other Medicines in the world; and therefore, making greater contribution to the health of mankind.

World Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ISSN 2311-8571, CN10-1395/R) is sponsored by WFCMS, and is the official journal of GP-TCM RA. The journal is an open access, peer-reviewed print + online Quarterly journal. The journal's full text is available online at www.wjtcm.net and allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. 

WJTCM dedicates to report the research progress in clinical efficacy and action mechanism of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese materia medica, acupuncture and moxibustion to doctors and biomedical researchers around the world, so as to provide new thoughts and methods for solving complex diseases and knotty diseases.

This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

The journal focuses on modern research of Chinese medicine and natural medicine, including reviews and articles in the following aspects:

  1. Modern research on Chinese materia medica and natural medicine: theories of processing Chinese materia medica, theories of medicine property and compatibility, the safety of Chinese materia medica, TCM and compound pharmacology, material basis and mechanism of medicine effects;
  2. Research on TCM basic theory: including scientific connotation and biological foundation of TCM basic theory;
  3. TCM clinical study: including disease and syndrome, the safety of TCM, curative effect evaluation, evidence-based and system evaluation;
  4. Acupuncture & moxibustion: including effect mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion, specificity of acupoint effect, acupoints compatibility, efficacy evaluation of acupuncture and moxibustion.
